Why hire panel saw time?
A track saw on trestles will get through a sheet, but it won't give you the speed, square and repeatability of a proper panel saw. When you're cutting thirty-plus components for a kitchen, the difference is measured in hours saved and joints that close up first time. A commercial panel saw holds dimension across a whole cutting list — every carcass side identical, every shelf square.
Owning one is another matter: serious capital, three-phase power, extraction and floor space. Hiring ours costs £200 + VAT for a full 7am–7pm day — and unlike machine-only hire elsewhere, your booking includes the entire workshop, so you can cut, edge and assemble in one visit.

The saw is an SCM Minimax SC 4E sliding table panel saw — 315 mm blade capacity with scoring, 100 mm depth of cut, 1,270 mm rip capacity on the parallel fence and a 2,600 mm sliding table stroke, with a telescopic squaring fence handling panels up to 3,200 mm. The scoring unit means chip-free cuts on melamine and veneered board, and full 8x4 sheets go through with room to spare. Dust extraction (Inventair) runs throughout, so boards come off the saw clean.
Inductions and support
First visit? We'll run you through the saw before you start — a short induction covering setup, safe operation and getting the best from the fence and scoring. Experienced machinists are cutting within minutes; if you'd rather we ran the cutting list with you the first time, ask when you book.
